Ranippettai Engineering College, established in 1999, is a premier self-financing institution dedicated to providing high-quality technical education. Founded by the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Educational Trust, which was established in 1994, the college aims to foster excellence in the field of engineering. The Trust initially began its educational venture with Ranippettai Institute of Technology, offering diploma courses in engineering. Building on this success, the Trust established Ranippettai Engineering College to offer Bachelor's degree courses in engineering, with a vision to promote academic rigor and practical learning.
The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the Government of Tamil Nadu. It is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, ensuring that the institution adheres to high academic standards. The college is situated along the Chennai-Bombay Trunk Road, near the Chennasamudram Toll Gate, approximately 100 km from Chennai, 30 km from Vellore, and 37 km from the Katpadi railway junction, making it easily accessible for students.
